We looked at different scenes from chick flicks that involved bullying between girls at high school. This will inspire our contrasting opening sequence.
In 'Freaky Friday' there is a part that will help us with our sequence (between 7:30 to 7:45).
This sequence shows a stereotypical example of bullying. It will inspire our sequence as it is based at a school and is the appropriate age group and gender of our characters. It also shows how the girls gang up one person which will be the same for ours. The difference between 'Freaky Friday' and our opening sequence will be that ours will not be comical.
In this sequence from 'Kidulthood' it shows how badly bullied some people and it has more of a serious approach. This will influence us in our sequence. We also like the way in which the camera is from the victim's point of view which we found was effective and want to include in our sequence. The way in which the victim is alone really focuses on how isolated and alone she is and her lack of friends whows her lack of confidence which will be a main factor that we want to show through the victim's (Alice) character.
